Establishment of a System to Quickly Transmit Emergency Earthquake Reports through Cable Television
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) accepted public comments from Wednesday, September 16 to Thursday October 15, 2009 regarding the partial revision proposal of a notification stipulated in the Cable Television Broadcasting Act Enforcement Regulation Article 26 Section 16 Paragraph 3 No.3 to make possible the quick transmission of emergency earthquake reports through cable television and did not receive any comments from the public.
The MIC will quickly move forward with the revision of the above notification based on the results of the public comments.
The MIC has made a request to concerned organizations for technical methods to speed up the transmission of the emergency earthquake reports in order to shorten the time necessary to process the digital high definition signal when the emergency earthquake reports are being transmitted over digital broadcasting, and received a report of the investigations results stating that there is a method possible using the transmission channel for transmission control.
