Inviting of Comments Regarding a Notification Enactment and Partial Revision to Ordinances concerning the Introduction of a Multilateration Hyperbolic Positioning Monitoring System and Expanding Use of Aeronautical Radio

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has created an enactment notification and a partial revision proposal to related ordinances concerning the introduction of a hyperbolic positioning monitoring system (multilateration)*1 and expanding use of aeronautical radio.

Therefore, comments will be accepted from Friday, November 27 to Monday, January 4, 2009 regarding this ordinance proposal.

Notes:

  1. The hyperbolic positioning monitoring system (multilateration system) uses a SSR mode signal*2 to monitor the location of aircraft and other objects by receiving signals sent from three different locations in airplanes and vehicles equipped with wireless equipment.
  2. SSR (Secondary Surveillance Radar) transmits an interrogation signal which is received by aircraft, then a response signal is sent from the response apparatus and finally received by the radar identifying where the aircraft is located. Mode Selective is SSR which can selectively monitor the location of each aircraft.
