The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today received a verdict from the Radio Regulatory Council (Chairman: Hiroshi HARASHIMA, Professor of Tokyo University) regarding the partial revision proposal for wireless equipment regulations and technical regulations conformity certification of special wireless equipment in order to add additional technical standards for wireless equipment (gap filler) to perform television broadcasts that connect to cable television networks with a small amount of power (less than 50mW.). This verdict stated that the original proposal was appropriate.

Public comments were also accepted regarding this ordinance proposal from Thursday, October 15 to Monday, November 16, 2009 and a total of five comments were submitted which will be published along with the ideas of the MIC.

The MIC plans to quickly revise this ordinance based on the verdict and result of public comments submitted.
