The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today received a partial response from the Information and Communications Council (Chairman: Takuma Otoshi, President of IBM Japan) regarding the Telecommunications Technology Council Inquiry No. 81 of July 24, 1995 “Effective Usage Measures for Cellular Phone Frequencies”.
Background
The CDMA2000 type CDMA high speed data cellular wireless communications system was introduced due to the rapid increase in communications usage involved with the start of internet connection services on cellular phones and the anticipation of higher data connection speeds be made a reality, and the current system is currently used at a transmission rate of 3.1Mbps download and 1.8Mbps upload speeds.
After this introduction the trend of increased video transmission usage of internet services is continuing and there is further anticipation of the introduction of faster, larger capacity and more convenient mobile communications systems.
