The Information and Communications Agency and the Postal Services Council received an inquiry on November 17, 2009 from the Minister of Internal Affairs regarding The Approval Draft Changes to Interconnection Tariffs concerning Category I Designated Telecommunications Facilities of NTT East and NTT West (Changes in Provisions of Measures to Protect Liabilities).

Public comments were accepted from November 17 to December 17, 2009 regarding these draft changes and as a result, one comment was received.

These comments will be published while public comments will be accepted again from December 22, 2009 until January 15, 2010 based on the comment received.

Outline of Draft Changes

The protection of liabilities between business operators of NTT East and NTT West will be changed by revising the necessary collateral required for debt and changing the interconnection tariffs in order to decrease the amount of money on deposit to perform maintenance on necessary prescribed equipment and other items.
