The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) created a directive proposal to partially revise related Radio Act Screening Criteria (MIC Directive No.67, January 6, 2001) with the purpose of simplifying the acquirement of the Maritime II – Category Special Radio Operator License by decreasing the amount of training course time for the Maritime II – Category Special Radio Operator for those who have already acquired the Maritime III – Category Special Radio Operator License. The MIC accepted public comments from September 11 to October 13, 2009 regarding this directive proposal.
As a result, a total of 3 comments were submitted and these comments along with the ideas of the MIC concerning these comments have been made public.
The MIC plans to quickly revise the related directives based on the results of the public comments.
