The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today inquired to the Radio Regulatory Council (Chairman: Hiroshi HARASHIMA, honorary professor of Tokyo University) regarding ordinance proposals to partially revise the Wireless Equipment Regulations (1950 Radio Regulatory Committee Regulation No.18), fundamental standards for the establishment of broadcasting stations (1950 Radio Regulatory Committee Regulation No. 21) and the standard format for transmissions for digital broadcasting which is a part of standard television broadcasting (2003 MIC Ordinance No.26), to achieve multimedia broadcasting for portable devices.

Therefore, public comments will be accepted from Thursday, February 4 to Friday, March 5, 2010 regarding the inquiries to the Radio Regulatory Council on this ordinance proposal and the development of other systems.
