Verdict from the Radio Regulatory Council Regarding the Comprehensive License for Special Radio Stations Affiliated with KDDI Co., Ltd., and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company


The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has today received a verdict from the Radio Regulatory Council (Chairman: Hiroshi HARASHIMA, honorary professor of Tokyo University) regarding the application from KDDI Co., Ltd., (CEO Tadashi ONODERA) and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company (CEO Hiroshi KITAGAWA) concerning a comprehensive license for special radio stations, stating that it was appropriate to issue a comprehensive license.

Outline of the Application and Inquiry

An application was received from KDDI Co., Ltd. and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company regarding a comprehensive license for a special radio station lower power repeater for use with the 800MHz band frequency.
It was recognized after an inquiry based on provisions in paragraph (4) Article 27 of the Radio Act (1950 Act No. 131) that both applications conformed to these regulations.
