The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will begin accepting applications for "Video Applications" to the ICT Furusato Genki Project, which will enrich local public services while training and utilizing ICT Human Resources founded on local innovation in the medical, nursing, welfare, disaster response, crime prevention and other public sectors.
Bodies that will Implement and Apply
a. Implementing Bodies
Non-profit corporate bodies will carry out maintenance projects on ICT-related instruments and equipment that transmits wired communications for direct reception by the general public (hereinafter "ICT Furusato Genki Project" ["Video Applications" component]), which is part of the ICT Furusato Genki Project (subsidies for training and utilizing local ICT human resources).
b. Applying Bodies
The Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications will recognize municipalities or their associated entities (hereinafter "municipalities, etc.") as qualified to receive subsidies and support one-quarter or more of their expenses (including the amount of subsidies allocated to municipalities, etc. by the national government for subsidized projects).
