The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) accepted public comments regarding a draft ministerial ordinance partially revising both the Regulations for Technical Conformity Certification, Etc. of Specified Wireless Equipment (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Ordinance No. 37, Year 1981) and the Regulations for Technical Conformity Certification of Terminal Equipment (MIC Ordinance No. 15, Year 2004) from February 9 until March 11, 2010. As a result, a total of five comments were submitted.
The MIC will make public these comments along with the ideas of the MIC regarding these comments and plans to revise both ordinances based on the comments received.
Background and Outline of Revisions
(1) Introduction of Electromagnetic Displays
Changes will be made so that the technical conformity certification mark placed on easily seen parts of specified wireless equipment and terminal equipment (hereinafter referred to as "specified wireless equipment, etc.") will be documented electromagnetically on specified wireless equipment, etc. possessing a video screen so that it can be displayed on the video screen.
(2) Review of Method for Notifying the Public on Equipment that has Received Technical Conformity Certification, Etc.
For the sake of prompt notification, changes will be made so that the public will be notified of various equipment certifications via online notifications rather than notification via the current government newsletter.
