In FY 2009, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) began issuing subsidies for digitalization work to promote terrestrial digital broadcasting support through shared reception facilities in apartment buildings, etc., and applications for these subsidies were accepted until December 28, 2010.
This notification is to confirm that a repeat appeal for subsidy applications will commence from January 5 (Wed), 2011.
1. Outline of subsidization scheme
(1) Subsidies available
In the case of improved digital reception through shared reception facilities in residential complexes or replacement with cable television facilities, subsidies provide a maximum of 50% of the total expenses for establishment/replacement of facilities that are essential for viewing terrestrial digital broadcasting.
*Please note that there limitations are imposed if expenses exceed 35,000 yen per household.

(2) Where to submit subsidy applications
Subsidy applications will be accepted at the “Digi-Support” centers in each prefecture.
(3) Period for receipt of applications
From January 5, 2011
*As there is only a limited budget available in FY 2010 for the operation of subsidies, applications will no longer be accepted once the budget has been spent.
