On January 25, 2011, the Information and Communications Administration and Postal System Administration Council received an inquiry from the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications concerning “Partial Revision of Telecommunications Business Law Enforcement Regulations.”
Accordingly, an appeal for opinions on this ministerial ordinance plan will be held until February 24 (Thu), 2011.
1. Background, etc.
This matter concerns an inquiry from the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications regarding partial revision of Telecommunications Business Law enforcement regulations, etc. based on the Information and Communications Council reply entitled “Status of Basic Telecommunications Service (Universal Service) System in Transitional Period Until Broadband Services Reach All Parts of Japan” (dated December 14, 2010).
2. Ministerial ordinance plan outline, etc.
An outline of this ministerial ordinance plan, along with a new-old comparison table, can be found in the enclosed documents.
Please note that once arrangements have been made the ministerial ordinance plan will be published in the “Public comments” section of the e-Gov coordinated electronic government contact website and made available for inspection at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) Information and Communications Bureau, General Affairs Division (11th Floor, MIC).
3. Subject of appeal for opinions, and how to submit opinions
