The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) is considering revising telephone area codes and local office numbers in a certain area of Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture that are found in Annexed Table No. 1 of the item establishing the particulars of telecommunications number regulations (1997 Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Bulletin No. 574). Accordingly, an appeal for opinions on this reform proposal will be held from January 27 (Thu) to February 25 (Fri), 2011.
1. Purpose of revision
The bulletin will be partially revised in order to unify the telephone area codes of Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.
2. Outline of reform proposal
Telephone area codes in a certain area (the former Keihoku-cho) of Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture will be revised as per the enclosed document, concerning Annexed Table No. 1 of the item establishing the particulars of telecommunications number regulations.
By means of this revision, it will become possible in the relevant areas to dial from local office numbers when calling inside Kyoto City.

This reform proposal will be published in the “Reports and documents” area of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) website as well as in the “Public comments” section of the e-Gov coordinated electronic government website, and will be distributed at the point of contact provided at the end of this document.
Deadline for submission of opinions: must arrive no later than 17:00 on February 25 (Fri), 2011 (mailed submissions must also arrive by this date)
4. Schedule
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will promptly carry out partial revision of this bulletin based on results from the appeal for opinions.
