State of Japanese Communications Utilization in Terms of Traffic

Report on state of utilization in FY 2009

 This is to announce that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled a report on FY 2009 voice traffic data received from telecommunications carriers, based on regulations in Telecommunications Business Reporting Rules (1988 Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Order No. 46).


1. Background

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has established regulations in Telecommunications Business Reporting Rules to request that telecommunications carriers provide reports on the state of traffic data in their voice services.
 This is to announce that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has now compiled a report on FY 2009 voice traffic data.

2. Purpose

 This survey aims to deliver an understanding of trends in the utilization of communications based on objective and reliable data so as to consider ideals for telecommunications services that are essential to people's lives and social economy activities, and by publishing this data it is hoped that consumers will be able to cultivate a better understanding of telecommunications services.
