From December 22, 2010 to January 21, 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) carried out an appeal for opinions on its draft report entitled “Operational Items in 2010 concerning Evaluation of State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field” (hereinafter, “Operational Items in 2010”), in response to which five opinions were submitted (see attachment). This is to announce that a decision has been reached on “Operational Items in 2010” based on results from the appeal for opinions.
1. Background
From December 22, 2010 to January 21, 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) carried out an appeal for opinions on its “Operational Items in 2010” (draft), in response to which five opinions were submitted.
This is to announce that a decision has been reached on “Operational Items in 2010” based on results from the appeal for opinions.
2. Outline, etc.
The attached documents contain a list of proponents of opinions on the original plan, the “Operational Items in 2010” as decided, along with the MIC's views on the opinions that were submitted in response to the appeal.
Please note that the attached documents will be made available for inspection at the Telecommunications Policy Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) Telecommunications Bureau (10th Floor, MIC), and will also be published in the “Reports and documents” section of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) website and in the “Public comment” area of e-Gov, the coordinated electronic government contact website.
3. Schedule
Based on its decision regarding “Operational Items in 2010,” the MIC will carry out competition evaluation for FY 2010 in line with these contents while at the same time discussing an ideal future for market demarcation.
