This is to announce that the “Study Group for Various ICT Service Problems from Users' Viewpoints” (Chairman: Masao Horibe, emeritus professor at Hitotsubashi University) has compiled an “Interim Report on Establishment of Environment for Youths' Safe and Secure Internet Use” (hereinafter, “Interim Report”).
1. Background
Through the “Study Group for Various ICT Service Problems from Users' Viewpoints” (initiated in April 2009), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has analyzed the state of affairs surrounding youths' Internet use since the establishment and enforcement of the “Act on Establishment of Enhanced Environment for Youth's Safe and Secure Internet Use” (Act No. 79 of 2008 Law), and has considered further initiatives to be taken after verifying with all related parties the initiatives carried out so far.
This is to announce that the Study Group has now compiled an “Interim Report.”
2. Contents
The “Interim Report” is as per the enclosed document. Please note that materials distributed by the Study Group will be published on the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) website.
3. Schedule
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will continue studies concerning Internet use by young people through the “Study Group for Various ICT Service Problems from Users' Viewpoints.”
