Appeal for Opinions on Study Agenda concerning “Information and Communications Policy for Implementation of Knowledge Information Society”

  On February 10, 2011, the Information and Communications Council Policy Section Meeting (Head of Section Meeting: Osamu Sudo, Professor at The University of Tokyo Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies) commenced deliberation on the “State of Information and Communications Policy for Implementation of Knowledge Information Society.”
  The Information and Communications Policy Section Meeting has now compiled a study agenda concerning its deliberation on this matter, and an appeal for opinions on this agenda will be held from February 24 (Thu) to March 24 (Thu), 2011.


1. Background, etc.

  On February 10, 2011, the Information and Communications Council Policy Section Meeting (Head of Section Meeting: Osamu Sudo, Professor at The University of Tokyo Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies), having received an inquiry from the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, commenced deliberation on the “State of Information and Communications Policy for Implementation of Knowledge Information Society.”
  The Information and Communications Policy Section Meeting has compiled a study agenda concerning its deliberation on this matter, so an appeal will now be held for opinions matters published in the study agenda, including things to be considered when promoting comprehensive ICT strategy, etc.


2. Outline of appeal for opinions

  “Study Agenda” (see enclosed documents)

(2) Submission deadline
  Must arrive by 17:00 on March 24 (Thu), 2011 (mailed submissions must also arrive by this date)

  For further details, please see the enclosed outline of the appeal for opinions.
  Please note that the subject of this appeal for opinions will be published in the “Reports and documents” area of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) website as well as in the “Public comments” section of the e-Gov coordinated electronic government website, and can also be inspected at the contact address provided at the end of this document.


3. Schedule

  The opinions submitted will be used as references for deliberation by the Information and Communications Policy Section Meeting.
