Appeal for Opinions on Basic Draft Plan concerning “Research relating to Quantitative Investigation of Opthalmic Radio Wave Absorption” in FY 2011

Prior to making a public appeal for proposals regarding “research relating to quantitative investigation of opthalmic radio wave absorption” in FY 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled a basic draft plan for the implementation of this research.
Accordingly, opinions on this basic draft plan will be sought from February 26 (Sat) to March 28 (Mon).

1. Background

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has been researching the biological effects of radio waves since 1997, in order to ease citizens' fears about radio waves and construct a society where radio waves can be used with peace of mind.
When carrying out research, contents are carefully examined from technical and economical perspectives, and external assessments are made by third parties to ensure validity, efficiency, transparency, etc.
Now, prior to making a public appeal for proposals regarding this research in FY 2011, a basic draft plan has been compiled to list research task contents, targets to be achieved, and so on.
Accordingly, there will now be a broad appeal for opinions on this basic draft plan.

Opinions will be sought on the basic draft plan for research tasks to be newly implemented in FY 2011 (see enclosed document).

3. Outline of appeal for opinions

See the enclosed outline of the appeal for opinions.
