Public Appeal for Proposals on Living Electromagnetic Environment Research in FY 2011

 

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold a public appeal for proposals on the following research task: “research into the effects of electromagnetic environments on the functioning and development of immune systems.”
 This research and development will be incorporated in the FY 2011 draft budget, hence a public appeal will be held before the budget is arranged in order to commence R&D as soon as the budget is complete. Therefore, please understand that contents, etc. will be subject to change.


1. Period of public appeal

  From February 25 (Fri) to March 28 (Mon), 2011

2. Research tasks appealed for and planned implementation budgets

The public appeal that is being held is for proposals related to the research subject listed below. The estimated first year budget for research implementation is also given below. The stated implementation period is a rough estimate.
As a general rule, one proposal will be selected for each subject.

3. How to apply

Please submit one written proposal with a duplicate and any other necessary documents (see the proposal creation outline for more details) by mail to arrive no later than March 28 (Mon), 2011.
  Documents connected to applications are listed in the attachment.
 For collaborative research (when multiple businesses work together on research subjects, etc.), please submit proposals to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) after they have been compiled by the representative research institution.

4. Selection of commissions

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will select commissions after receiving the results of external assessments.

5. Schedule

 Beginning of April to middle of April External assessments to be carried out as the basis for selection of research institutions as candidates for commissions
 End of April to middle of May Notification of selections to be issued
                             Results of the public appeal will be published on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC)*

After notification of selections  After research institutions have been selected and coordinated with, contracts will be made promptly and research will be carried out

 Please note that the above schedule may change depending on the status of external assessments.
*An official announcement will be made regarding the selected research institutions (in cases of collaborative research, each institution will be named).
