Appeal for Opinions on Draft Report from Broadcasting System Committee

(Concerning technical requirements for the safety and reliability of broadcasting)

 The Information and Communications Council, Information and Communications Technology Subcommittee, Broadcasting System Committee (Chief Examiner: Susumu Ito, professor at Tokyo University of Science) has been deliberating over technical requirements for the safety and reliability of broadcasting since December 2010.
 The Committee has now compiled a draft report, opinions on which will be sought from February 26 (Sat) to March 28 (Mon), 2011.

2. Outline

  The Information and Communications Council, Information and Communications Technology Subcommittee, Broadcasting System Committee has been deliberating over technical requirements for the safety and reliability of broadcasting since December 2010, and this draft report compiles results from deliberation to date.
 Please note that the “Broadcasting System Committee Draft Report” will be published in the “Reports and documents” area of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) website and in the “Public comment” section of e-Gov, the electronic coordinated government contact website. It will also be provided for inspection via the contact desk at the Broadcast System Committee Office.

3. Outline of appeal for opinions

4. Submission deadline

  Must arrive no later than 17:00 on March 28 (Mon), 2011 (mailed submissions must also arrive by this date)

5. Points to remember when submitting opinions

  Written opinions submitted, including information relating to the opinions therein, names of proponents (names of corporations, etc., where appropriate) and other contextual information, may be published at a future date. Also, please understand that we are unable to provide replies concerning each separate opinion.

6. Schedule

  A report will be compiled based on results from the appeal for opinions.
