ICT Symposium for Growth of Asia-Pacific Region to be held

 

  In order to promote policy that was included in the “Okinawa Declaration,” which was a result of the 8th APEC Meeting of Telecommunications and Information Industry Cabinet Ministers held in Okinawa Prefecture held in October 2010, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold an “ICT symposium for the growth of the Asia-Pacific region,” inviting government bodies from outside Japan, etc. to a panel discussion, etc. on March 9 (Wed), 2011.


1. Reasons for holding symposium

 This symposium will be held as an international symposium for discussion regarding policy initiatives to be taken concerning ICT tasks aimed at the economic unification and growth of the Asia-Pacific region and the state of coordination/cooperation between countries and regions, based on the “Okinawa Declaration” adopted at the 8th APEC Meeting of Telecommunications and Information Industry Cabinet Ministers, and it will also facilitate the sharing of advanced cases that will be essential as contributions to future discussions.

  Date and time: scheduled for March 9 (Wed), 2011 (09:00-18:00)
Venue: The Tokai University Club, 35th Floor, Kasumigaseki Building, Kasumigaseki 3-2-5, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo
