The Information and Communications Administration and Postal System Administration Council carried out an appeal for opinions on "Partial Revision of Telecommunications Business Law Enforcement Regulations" from January 25 to February 24, 2011. As a result of this appeal, three opinions were received.
The Council will now conduct study and deliberation based on these opinions, before submitting a report to the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications.
1. Background, etc.
The Information and Communications Administration and Postal System Administration Council received an inquiry from the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications regarding partial revision of Telecommunications Business Law enforcement regulations, etc. based on the Information and Communications Council reply entitled "Status of Basic Telecommunications Service (Universal Service) System in Transitional Period Until Broadband Services Reach All Parts of Japan" (dated December 14, 2010), and an appeal for opinions was conducted until February 24, 2011.
2. Opinions submitted
The opinions submitted and their proponents are as per the enclosed document.
Please note that contents of the opinions submitted will be published in the "Public comments" section of the e-Gov coordinated electronic government website, and can also be inspected at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) Information and Communications Bureau, General Affairs Division (11th Floor, Central Gov't. Building No. 2).
3. Schedule
The Council will conduct study and deliberation based on these opinions, before submitting a report to the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications.
