Reply from Information and Communications Administration and Postal System Administration Council concerning Licence for Distribution of Donations, etc. of International Volunteer Savings

 

  On March 10, 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) submitted an inquiry to the Information and Communications Administration and Postal System Administration Council (Chairman: Atsushi Takahashi, Chairman of Board of Directors at Sumitomo Trust and Banking Company, Ltd.) concerning a request from the Management Organization for Postal Savings and Postal Life Insurance (Board Chairman: Masao Hirai) for a license for distribution of donations, etc. of international volunteer savings, and a reply was received from the Council stating its approval of this request.
  Having received this reply, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will approve this matter on March 10, 2011.


Outline of license request

  This license request was sent from the Management Organization for Postal Savings and Postal Life Insurance and addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, based on regulations in supplementary provision 23.1 of the Act on Preparation, etc. of Relevant Acts Accompanying Enforcement of the Postal Service Privatization Act, etc. (2005 Law, Act No. 102) and Article 7.2.1 of the Law on the Entrusting of the Contributing of Private Foreign Countries' Aid Business with Postal Savings Accrual (1990 Law, Act No. 72) prior to its abolition due to the validation of the former by Article 2 of the above-mentioned Act.
