The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has developed plug-in software for the provision of information regarding unsolicited email, enabling recipients of unsolicited email to provide information in a simple and easy way, and distribution of this software commenced on April 1, 2011 via a special website.
1. Outline
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) receives information from recipients of email that may be in violation of the Act on Regulation of Transmission of Special Electronic Mail (Act No. 26 of 2002 Law; hereinafter, “the Act on Special Email”).
Now, in order for recipients of unsolicited email to provide information in a simple and easy way, plug-in software has been developed for the provision of information regarding unsolicited email, and this will be distributed beginning April 1, 2011.
2. Plug-in software for provision of information regarding unsolicited email
Installing this plug-in software in the email client on your computer will enable you to perform a simple operation to provide information from the email client.
Information provided regarding unsolicited email will be used in measures taken against violators of the Act on Special Email, etc.
