On April 4, 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) approved an application from Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (hereinafter, “NTT East and West”) for the revision of connection agreements relating to Type I designated telecommunications equipment. The terms outlined in the enclosed document are attached to this approval of the NTT East and West request.
1. Background
On January 21, 2011, after the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) received from NTT East and West a request for approval of revisions to NTT East and NTT West connection agreements (reform of subscription-based optical fiber connection fees in FY 2011 and beyond), the MIC submitted an inquiry to the Information and Communications Administration and Postal System Administration Council, and a reply was received from the Council on March 29, 2011 (see enclosed documents).
Based on the Council's reply, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) requested NTT East and NTT West to take the necessary measures, and on April 1, 2011 there was a revision application from NTT East and West concerning the reform of connection agreements.
2. Outline of revision, etc.
The enclosed documents contain an outline of connection agreement revisions and new-old connection agreement comparison tables.
