From February 8 to March 10, 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) conducted an appeal for opinions on its directive plan for partial reform of Radio Law-related inspection standards (2001 Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) Directive No. 67) to support diversification of the use of digitalized radio communications for fire fighting and emergency aid as well as radio communications for disaster prevention and administration. Two opinions were submitted in response to this appeal, and these are officially announced herein along with the views of the MIC.
Radio Law-related inspection standards will promptly be revised based on results from the appeal for opinions.
1. Outline of revisions
(1) Inspection standards will be serviced to cover situations where businesses operating so-called doctor helicopters are main fire fighting-use radio station licensees.
(2) Relevant inspection standards will be serviced in order to support joint maintenance of fire fighting-use radio equipment by multiple organizations, etc., or to aim for clarification.
(3) Among broadcast system radio communications for disaster prevention and administration, there will be servicing of inspection standards concerning frequency allocations for all reception systems in relation to the receivers installed at every house.

The opinions submitted, along with the views of the MIC, are as per the enclosed document.
3. Schedule
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will promptly revise the Radio Law-related inspection standards.
