Appeal for Opinions on Directive Plans for Partial Revision of Broadcast Act-related Inspection Standards, etc.

Servicing of regulations for safety and reliability of broadcasting

  The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has drawn up directive plans (see attachments) for partial revision of Radio Law-related Inspection Standards (2001 MIC Directive No. 68) to service regulations relating to technical requirements for the safety and reliability of broadcasting.
  Accordingly, a broad appeal for opinions on these revision plans will be held from May 26 (Thu) to June 24 (Fri), 2011.


1. Revision outline

  Regarding the directive plans on which opinions have been sought since April 28, 2011, a partial reply was received from the Information and Communications Council on May 17, 2011, and an Inspection Standards plan containing specific examples of measures, etc. has been added.

  • Definition of specific examples of measures directed toward telecommunications facilities used in broadcasting work.
  • Servicing of other regulations.

  Please note that the directive plans can be inspected at the address provided at the end of this document, and will also be published in the “Reports and documents” area of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) website (http://www.soumu.go.jp) as well as in the “Public comment” field of e-Gov (http://www.e-gov.go.jp), the electronic coordinated government contact website.

These directives will be revised based on the opinions received.
