The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) is considering revising telephone area codes and local office numbers in a certain area of Shinhidaka Town, Hidaka District, Hokkaido Prefecture that are found in Annexed Table No. 1 of the item establishing the particulars of telecommunications number regulations (1997 Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Bulletin No. 574). Accordingly, an appeal for opinions on this reform proposal will be held from July 7 (Thu) to August 8 (Mon), 2011.
1. Purpose of revision
The bulletin will be partially revised in order to unify the telephone number divisions* of Shinhidaka Town, Hidaka District, Hokkaido Prefecture.
*Divisions denoting the range in which local calls can be made. Telephones in regions using the same number divisions can dial from local office numbers.
2. Outline of reform proposal
Telephone number divisions in Shinhidaka Town, Hidaka District, Hokkaido Prefecture will be unified, concerning Annexed Table No. 1 of the item establishing the particulars of telecommunications number regulations. (This changes the number division for on part of Shinhidaka Town (formerly Mitsuishi Town).)
By means of this revision, it will become possible in the relevant areas to dial from local office numbers when calling within Shinhidaka.

4. Schedule
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will promptly carry out partial revision of this bulletin based on results from the appeal for opinions.
