From June 8 to July 4, 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) held an appeal for opinions on its draft Evaluation Results from the FY2010 Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use, which evaluated the degree of effective utilization of radio waves based on the FY2010 Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use. Based on the results from this appeal, an inquiry was submitted to the Radio Regulatory Council (Chairman: Hiroshi Harashima, emeritus professor at The University of Tokyo) on July 13, 2011, and a reply was received from the Council stating its approval of the matters outlined in the inquiry.
Accordingly, the evaluation results from the FY2010 Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use are officially announced herein along with the results from the appeal for opinions.
1. Results from appeal for opinions
Opinions on the draft Evaluation Results from the FY2010 Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use were sought from June 8 to July 4, 2011, and three opinions were received.
2. Reply from Council, and official announcement of evaluation results
(1) From June 8 to July 4, 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) held an appeal for opinions on its draft Evaluation Results from the FY2010 Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use (hereinafter, “evaluation results”), based on an FY 2010 survey of the use of radio waves in frequency bands between 770MHz and 3.4GHz. Based on the results from this appeal, an inquiry was submitted to the Radio Regulatory Council on July 13, 2011, and a reply was received from the Council stating its approval of the matters outlined in the inquiry.
(2) Evaluation results based on based on Article 26, Regulation 2.4 of the Radio Law (1950 Law, Act No. 131) are officially announced herein.
These evaluation results will be published on the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) website and can also be inspected at the Radio Policy Division, Radio Department, Telecommunications Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and at each Regional Bureau of Telecommunications (including the Okinawa Office of Telecommunications).
