The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided on Japan's official views regarding each agenda of the 2010 World Radiocommunications Conference, which is scheduled to be held in Switzerland from January 23 to February 17, 2012. Accordingly, opinions on these views will be sought from July 21 (Thu) to August 17 (Wed), 2011.
1. Background
WRC-12 is a conference of the Radiocommunications Department of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and will be held in Switzerland (Geneva) from January 23 to February 17, 2012 for the purpose of amending radio communications rules regulating methods of use for international frequency bands, application procedure for radio stations, technical standards, etc.
Prior to WRC-12, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided on “Japan's official views regarding each agenda of the 2012 World Radiocommunications Conference” in advance of the 5th APT Conference Preparatory Group Meeting for WRC-2012 (APT-WRC Preparatory Group Meeting) to be held in Korea (Pusan) from August 29 (Mon) to September 3 (Sat), 2011, and opinions on these views will now be sought.
2. Outline of appeal for opinions, etc.
・Subject of appeal for opinions: “Japan's Views on Each Agenda of the 2012 World Radiocommunications Conference”
・Deadline for submission of opinions: 17:00 on August 17 (Wed), 2011 (mailed submissions must also arrive no later than this date)
The outline will be distributed via the contact address provided at the end of this document and will also be published in the “Reports and documents” area of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) website (http://www.soumu.go.jp) as well as in the “Public comment” section of e-Gov (http://www.e-gov.go.jp), the electronic coordinated government contact website.
3. Schedule
The opinions received will be referred to in advance of future ITU Meetings and the APT-WRC Preparatory Group Meeting.
