Hearing to be held for Authorized Persons' Opinions on Various Comité International Spécial des Perturbations Radioélectriques (CISPR) Standards

 The Information and Communications Council, Information and Communications Technology Subcommittee is studying international standards established by the Comité International Spécial des Perturbations Radioélectriques (CISPR), a special committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), concerning measurement methods and acceptable levels for interference from waves emitted by electronics and electronic goods, etc., and plans to compile a report in September 2011. The Radio Wave Utilization Environment Committee has already compiled a draft report (see enclosed documents) on the standards outlined in item 1 in this document.
 Accordingly, on August 29 (Mon), 2011, there will be an opportunity for authorized persons to state their opinions at the Information and Communications Council, Information and Communications Technology Subcommittee, Radio Wave Utilization Environment Committee Meeting. Those who wish to participate should submit in accordance with the outlines of items 2 through 5.


1. CISPR standards studied (both standards reflect revisions made since previous reports)

1. CISPR14-1 (Permissible values for interference waves emitted by home electronics, electric tools and similar types of machinery, and measurement methods for these values)
2. CISPR16-2-1 (Technical requirements for measurement devices and methods in relation to wireless interference waves and immunity; Part 2, Volume 1: Methods of measuring transmission interference waves)


2. Parties permitted to state their opinions on this matter

 Persons (regardless of nationality) who are learned in matters relating to various Comité International Spécial des Perturbations Radioélectriques (CISPR) standards.


3. How to state opinions

 This event is scheduled to be held in Japanese at the Information and Communications Council, Information and Communications Technology Subcommittee, Radio Wave Utilization Environment Committee Meeting on August 29 (Mon), 2011.
 *The opinions (in summary where appropriate), occupations and full names of those stating opinions will be published on the MIC website at a future date, along with materials from the Radio Wave Utilization Environment Committee Meeting.


4. Procedure necessary for stating opinions

 Those who are hoping to state their opinions on this matter should submit a written outline of their opinion along with their full name (in the case of corporations and organizations (hereinafter, "corporations, etc."), the following are to be submitted: names of corporations, etc., full names of representatives, and full names and positions of persons actually stating the corporations' opinions) and occupation (does not apply to corporations, etc.) by post, fax or e-mail, to arrive no later than August 22 (Mon), 2011. Please also submit your contact address in the format described in the attachments.
 Opinions submitted without the necessary items or without attending the Radio Wave Utilization Environment Committee Meeting will be disregarded.
 Furthermore, adjustments may be made as necessary due to the timing of deliberation.

 Please note that all expenses required for the statement of opinions are to be borne by the persons stating their opinions.
