Appeal for Opinions on Directive Plan for Partial Reform of Radio Law-related Inspection Standards

Reform of regional WiMAX inspection standards

 The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has drawn up a directive plan for partial reform of Radio Law-related inspection standards (2001 Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) Directive No. 67) in order to clarify methods of calculating "regulated boundaries" that serve as a reference for regional WiMAX interference boundaries.
 Accordingly, from August 2 (Tue) to September 1 (Thu), 2011, an appeal will be carried out for opinions on this directive plan.


1. Outline

(1) The definition and prerequisites of regulated interference boundaries will be rearranged and simplified, while a simple transmission loss calculation method will be adopted based on recent achievements made using base stations, various test results, and so on.
(2) While keeping communication as the main purpose, new procedure will be established for the introduction of "general broadcasting" as a secondary purpose.
