The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has created plans for the revision of Radio Law-related ministerial ordinances, etc. in order to introduce an 80GHz-band high speed wireless communication system and expand the use of a 5GHz-band wireless access system.
Accordingly, opinions on these revision plans will be sought from August 10 (Wed) to September 8 (Thu), 2011.
1. Outline
(1) Introduction of 80GHz-band high speed wireless communication system
Relevant ministerial ordinances will be revised to establish technical standards, etc. in Radio Equipment Regulations so as to introduce an "80GHz-band high speed wireless communication system" that enables transmission above 1Gbps suitable for optical cable.
(See attachments for outline of 80GHz-band high speed wireless communication system)
(2) Expanded use of 5GHz-band wireless access system
Mobile base stations and mobile stations will be introduced in addition to station types such as base stations and land-based mobile stations, etc., which are provided for in Radio Equipment Regulations, etc., from the perspective of using a "5GHz-band wireless access system" (for which land use is a prerequisite) on ships, etc. and in other locations away from land.
