Revision of NTT East and NTT West Type I Designated Telecommunications Equipment Connection Agreements Approved

Revision of credit transfer regulations in relation to start of connections from Hikari telephone network to wireless call business networks

 On August 12, 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) approved an application from Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (hereinafter, "NTT East and West") for the revision of connection agreements relating to Type I designated telecommunications equipment.


1. Outline

 In conjunction with the start of connections from NTT East and West's Hikari telephone network to wireless call business networks, it has become necessary in relation to the transfer of user charge credit for regulations to be serviced covering connections from the Hikari telephone network to wireless call business networks, in addition to the previously implemented regulations covering only connections from PSTN to wireless call business networks, and the connection agreement regulations have been revised as necessary.


2. Outline of revisions, etc.

 The enclosed documents contain an outline the application for connection agreement revisions and new-old connection agreement comparison tables.


3. Other

 This matter is based on provisos, etc. in Article 169 of the Telecommunications Business Law (1984 Law No. 86), and is deemed as being of insufficient significance to warrant the submission of an inquiry to the Information and Communications Administration and Postal System Administration Council.
