The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has conducted an appeal for continuation proposals in this fiscal year, targeting selected projects that were completed up to March 31, 2011 in the FY 2010 "Project for Coordinated Wide Area Use of ICT for Regional Benefits."
This is to announce that proposal contents have been assessed by an assessment team comprised of members of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Investigation and Study Project Team for ICT Subsidiary Aid, etc." (Leader: Nobuo Gohara, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) Adviser), and that commission candidates have been selected with reference to these assessments as per the enclosed documents.
1. Results from appeal for continuation proposals
Thirty-three applications were submitted in response to the appeal for continuation proposals. These proposals were assessed by an assessment team comprised of members of the Investigation and Study Project Team for ICT Subsidiary Aid, etc. (see attachments for list of members), and 14 commission candidates have been selected (see attachments) with reference to these assessment results.
2. Project outline
(1) Objectives
The project aims to promote efficient and beneficial use of ICT in public fields and to improve public services nation-wide, implementing commissioned initiatives that contribute through effective training and application of regional ICT workers by multiple local public bodies, including NPOs, in cooperation across a wide area.
(2) Recipients of commissions
Prefectures, special wards, municipal governments (including wide area unions and special district authorities), voluntary sector corporations, nonprofit corporations (NPO) and cooperative organizations.
(3) Project details
Initiatives for comprehensive support by enrichment of regional public services in fields that include medical care, nursing, social welfare, disaster prevention, crime prevention, etc., through multiple local public bodies across various regions operating wide area unions, introducing and applying ICT, and training ICT workers for regional cooperation.
3. Schedule
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will make adjustments for contracts with commission candidate organizations before carrying out contract procedures.
