From July 27 to August 22, 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) sought opinions on its “2010 Assessment of State of Competition in Telecommunications Business Field (Draft),” and based on the opinions received a decision on this assessment has been reached as outlined in the enclosed document.
1. Background
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) conducted its FY 2010 competition assessment according to the “Basic Policy for Assessment of the State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field” and “2010 Implementation of Particulars concerning Assessment of the State of Competition in the Telecommunications Business Field,” and the “2010 Assessment of State of Competition in Telecommunications Business Field (Draft)” was created based on advice from members of the “Competition Assessment Advisory Board” (convened on July 22, 2011). An appeal for opinions on this draft was held from July 27 to August 22, and seven opinions were submitted.
Based on these opinions, a decision has now been reached on the “2010 Assessment of State of Competition in Telecommunications Business Field” (see enclosed document).
2. Results from appeal for opinions
The submitted opinions, proponents and the MIC's views on these opinions are as per the enclosed documents.
