This is to announce that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled a report on the state of income/expenditure at commercial broadcasting businesses in FY 2010.
An outline of the FY 2010 income/expenditure status is provided below.
○ Main terrestrial broadcasters
In comparison with the preceding fiscal year, main terrestrial broadcasters saw a slight increase in sales; a decrease in cost of sales and selling, general and administrative expenses; and a drastic increase in operating profit, ordinary profit and current term profit.
○ Satellite broadcasters
In comparison with the preceding fiscal year, the whole satellite broadcasting industry (BS broadcasting, 110 east longitude CS broadcasting, and general satellite broadcasting) saw an increase in both operating revenue and operating expenses along with a drastic increase in operating profit.
○ Cable television broadcasters
In comparison with the preceding fiscal year, the whole cable television broadcasting industry saw an increase in both operating revenue and operating expenses along with an increase in operating profit.
