The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) drafted a “Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (September 2011 Revised Edition)” in order to smoothly and reliably reorganize frequencies.
An appeal for opinions on this draft was conducted from July 30 to August 29, 2011 when deciding on this revised edition, and the submitted opinions along with the views of the MIC are officially announced herein.
1. Background and purpose
Since 2004, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has annually revised and published the “Frequency Reorganization Action Plan” to highlight specific initiatives for smooth and reliable follow-ups on specific frequency reorganization based on evaluation results from the Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use, etc.
The “Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (February 2010 Revised Edition)” will now be revised based on July 2010 evaluation results from the FY 2009 Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use (covering frequency bands above 3.4GHz) and July 2011 evaluation results from the FY 2010 Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use (covering frequency bands between 770MHz and 3.4GHz).
2. Contents of review
Review of the “Frequency Reorganization Action Plan (September 2011 Revised Edition)” is provided below. (Refer to enclosed documents.)(PDF)
(1) Review of action plan for frequency bands above 3.4GHz, based on evaluation results from the FY 2009 Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use
(2) Review of action plan for frequency bands between 770MHz and 3.4GHz, based on evaluation results from the FY 2010 Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use
(3) Operation in accordance with state of progress of fixed action plan based on evaluation results from the FY 2008 Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use (covering frequency bands up to 770MHz)
3. Schedule
Specific initiatives for each frequency classification will be reliably executed.
The “Frequency Reorganization Action Plan” will continue to be revised based on evaluation results from the annual Survey of the State of Radio Wave Use, etc.
