From August 13 to September 12, 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) held an appeal for opinions on an “Interim Arrangement of Points at Issue concerning Introduction of Frequency Auctions” compiled by the “Panel Discussion concerning Frequency Auctions” (Chairman: Hitoshi Mitomo, Professor of Graduate Course at Waseda University Faculty of Asia-Pacific Studies). This is to officially announce that 119 opinions were submitted in response to the appeal.
1. Background
On March 2, 2011, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) initiated the “Panel Discussion concerning Frequency Auctions,” which has commenced studies relating to the introduction of frequency auctions in Japan, and an “Interim Arrangement of Points at Issue concerning Introduction of Frequency Auctions” (hereinafter, “Interim Arrangement of Points at Issue”) has now been compiled. This arranges points at issue in relation to the main points at issue to be emphasized in deliberation and the direction of the studies of the Panel Discussion.
An appeal for opinions on the Interim Arrangement of Points at Issue was held from August 13 to September 12, 2011 in order to contribute to the studies of the Panel Discussion, and 119 opinions were submitted in response to this appeal.
2. Results from appeal for opinions
Please note that the submitted opinions will be published in the “Reports and documents” section of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) website (http://www.soumu.go.jp) and in the “Public comment” area of e-Gov (http://www.e-gov.go.jp), the electronic coordinated government contact website, and will also be distributed at the contact address provided at the end of this document.
3. Schedule
The Panel Discussion will conduct further studies based on the opinions submitted, and will compile a report within the year.
