Decision on Commission Candidate for FY 2011 “Project Promoting Cooperative Business Administration Systems (Verification of Ways of Improving User-Friendliness for Mobile Phones as Means of Access)”

 This is to announce that based on assessments by external experts the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has decided on a commission candidate for the “Project Promoting Cooperative Business Administration Systems (Verification of Ways of Improving User-Friendliness for Mobile Phones as Means of Access).”


1. Project outline

 This project will conduct proof-of-concept with the purpose of selecting themes for the study of technical specifications for implementation of a foundational mobile access system through which mobile phones* can access online services, as well as for technical verification, systems and application, studying solution policy, and diffusing study results from standards organizations.
 *This commission project supposes that “mobile phones” are smart phones equipped with NFC functions.


2. Details of decision

 Two proposals were submitted in response to the public appeal that was held from August 15 to September 5, 2011. Selection was based on assessment results from a proposal assessment meeting consisting of external experts, and it has been decided that Hitachi, Ltd. will be the commission candidate.
