The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) will hold the meetings listed in the title in Geneva, Switzerland.
A Japanese delegation comprising personnel from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), telecommunications businesses, manufacturers and related organizations, etc. will participate in these meetings. A total of 28 people (including Shigeyuki Kubota – this Ministry's Director-General for Policy Coordination, Minister's Secretariat) will form the Japanese delegation participating in RA-12, while a total of 70 Japanese delegates (including Shigeki Suzuki – this Ministry's Director-General of the Radio Department) will participate in WRC-12.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will take positive action to support maximum influence for the views of Japan.
A meeting for approval of recommendations and resolutions from the ITU Radiocommunication Department as well as research tasks of the Study Groups (SG), deliberation on the appointment of SG Chairpersons/Vice-Chairpersons, and so on. Normally held once every three to four years.

A. Deliberation concerning approval of recommendations, etc. relating to detailed specification of wireless interface for the 4G mobile communications system as per the approved recommendation submitted from the SG meeting (IMT-Advanced: 4G Mobile Communications System)
B. Deliberation concerning approval of resolutions, etc. to promote consideration of electricity consumption reduction plans for wireless communication devices for reduction of greenhouse gases as per the approved resolution submitted from the SG meeting
C. Deliberation concerning approval of tasks, etc. for research of video signal formats (pixel count, frame rate, number of colors displayed, etc.) as a foundation for the production, transmission and display of images in connection with super-detailed images (super-high definition – a technology being advanced by Japan) outperforming high definition broadcasting (current HDTV), as per the research tasks approved for the next term of the Study Groups
D. Appointment of SG Chairpersons/Vice-Chairpersons for each Study Group
A meeting for revision of Radio Regulations (RR) covering methods of utilization for international frequency bands, application procedure for radio stations, and technological standards, etc. Normally held once every three to four years.

A. Deliberation on procedure, etc. concerning frequency allocation accompanying increasing demand of the Aeronautical Mobile Satellite Service, as an agenda for consideration of stable use of frequencies in the 1.5/1.6 GHz band for use by the Aeronautical Mobile Satellite Service
B. Deliberation concerning frequency distribution for new applications of wireless standardization services (radar), as an agenda for distribution of the VHF band (30-300 MHz) to wireless standardization services
C. Deliberation concerning frequencies required for operation of maritime radar machinery that can be used for safe navigation, etc. in coastal zones, as an agenda for acquisition of frequencies used by short-wave maritime radar
