On January 23, 2012, the Information and Communications and Posts Administrative Council received an inquiry from the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications concerning “approval of modifications to connection agreements relating to Type 1 designated telecommunications equipment installed by NTT East and NTT West (reform of connection fees relating to Next Generation Networks in FY 2012)”.
An appeal for opinions on this modification plan will be held from January 24 (Tue) to February 15 (Wed), 2012.
This modifies connection agreements to establish FY 2012 connections for the following four functions of the NTT East and NTT West Next Generation Network (NGN).
1. General station router connection routing transmission function (local station connection function)
2. Gateway switch connection routing transmission function (IGS connection function)
3. General relay station router connection routing transmission function (relay station connection function)
4. Ethernet transmission function (Ethernet connection function)
Subject of appeal for opinions: “Partial reform plan for connection agreements relating to connections with Type 1 designated telecommunications equipment based on Article 33, Items 2 and 7 of the Telecommunications Business Act”
Deadline of appeal for opinions: Must arrive by 17:00 on February 15 (Wed), 2012 (mailed submissions must also arrive by this date)
The subject of the appeal for opinions will be published in the “Reports and documents” area of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) website (http://www.soumu.go.jp) as well as in the “Public comments” section of the e-Gov coordinated electronic government website (http://www.e-gov.go.jp). Opinions can also be inspected at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) Information and Communications Bureau, General Affairs Division (11th Floor, Central Gov't. Building No. 2).
A report concerning the modification plan will be submitted to the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications after study and deliberation have been carried out based on opinions received after a repeat appeal for opinions, etc.
