Appeal for Opinions on Ministerial Ordinance Plan for Partial Revision of Telecommunications Business Law Enforcement Regulations

 On February 21, 2012, the Information and Communications Administration and Postal System Administration Council received an inquiry from the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications concerning “Partial Revision of Telecommunications Business Law Enforcement Regulations.”  Accordingly, an appeal for opinions on this ministerial ordinance plan will be held from February 22 (Wed) to March 22 (Thu), 2012.

1. Outline of inquiry

 On February 21, 2012, the Information and Communications Administration and Postal System Administration Council received an inquiry from the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications concerning “Partial Revision of Telecommunications Business Law Enforcement Regulations.” This matter changes the standards for designation as Type 2 specified telecommunications equipment based on the Information and Communications Council report of December 20, 2011, entitled “State of Environmental Maintenance for Promotion of Broadband Diffusion”, which held that “there should be a review and expansion of subjects for application of regulations relating to the Type 2 specified equipment system.”

2. Outline and subject of appeal for opinions

Subject of appeal for opinions:

“Ministerial Ordinance Plan for Partial Revision of Telecommunications Business Law Enforcement Regulations”

Please note that once preparations have been made, the ministerial ordinance plan will be published in the “Public comments” section of the e-Gov coordinated electronic government contact website (http://www.e-gov.go.jp), and will also be made available for inspection at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) Information and Communications Bureau, General Affairs Division (11th Floor, MIC).

3. Schedule

 Deliberation and study will be carried out based on the opinions received, and a report on this ministerial ordinance plan will then be submitted to the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications.
