The Law for Partial Revision of the Telecommunication Business Law and Act on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, etc. (Act No. 58 of 2011 Law) came into existence at the 177th National Diet, establishing a revision of the NTT Act that would replace the system for approval of business application licenses, etc. with a prior notification system, and this was enforced on November 30, 2011.
According to Article 2, Item 4.1 of the revised NTT Act, if NTT West intends to run objective achievement work it must in advance notify the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications of items that are established in Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) orders.
Based on these regulations, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications has accepted two notifications from NTT West dated February 27, 2012 concerning items established in Article 1 of the Act on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, etc. Enforcement Regulations (1985 Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Order No. 23; hereinafter, “NTT Act Enforcement Regulations”).
This has been officially announced on February 28, 2012, based on regulations in Article 2.3 of the NTT Act Enforcement Regulations.
The notifications state that NTT West will commence this business on March 5 (Mon), 2012.
