2012 Information and Communications White Paper Conceived by All
Information and Communications White Paper “reader participation project using SNS”
Together with raising awareness of the information and communications field, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will gain citizens' comprehension of its information and communications policy by using social networking services (hereinafter, “SNS”) and conducting an extensive appeal for citizens' opinions.
1. Project aims
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has drawn up “Reports on the Current State of Information and Communications” (hereinafter referred to as the “Information and Communications White Paper”) annually since 1973, with the aim of broadly gaining citizens' comprehension of Japan's current state with regard to information and communications as well as information and communications policy trends.
As part of the MIC's desire for all citizens to feel closer to information and communications and an opportunity for building interest in information and communications, an extensive appeal for citizens' opinions on the 2012 edition of the Information and Communications White Paper will be held by using SNS, and the White Paper will be compiled as a “reader participation type” paper that reflects citizens' opinions.
2. Project outline
This project's sites will be opened on SNS platforms Facebook and mixi, and these sites will be used to hold extensive appeals for opinions on themes of “strengthening Japan's international competitiveness by means of ICT” and “an image of the future of media in the era of social clouds”.
Results will then be compiled and reflected in compilation of the Information and Communications White Paper.
3. Site administration
