Aggregation and Preliminary Calculation of Internet Traffic in Japan
Publication of aggregate results as of November 2011
In order to ascertain the true state of Internet traffic in Japan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has aggregated traffic and made preliminary calculations as of November 2011, with the cooperation of six Internet Service Providers (see note 1), five Internet Exchanges (IX) (see note 2) and researchers (see note 3).
Main points

On the other hand, overall upload traffic from broadband service subscribers was estimated to be approximately 669Gbps, showing an ongoing trend of decrease since aggregation in May 2010.
