“Hokuriku Regional Panel Discussion for Commission on ICT Town Development and Global Expansion” to be held

1. Background

  The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) initiated the “Panel Discussion for Commission on ICT Town Development and Global Expansion” since December 2011 as a panel discussion to be supervised by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications so as to study the state of new town development using ICT, policy promoting its implementation and global expansion policy for new town development models using ICT, for the purpose of realizing new towns using ICT. 　
  The Panel Discussion has also determined to hold “Regional Panel Discussions” in around five locations nation-wide in order for the opinions of person in charge with regional town development (such as local citizens, economic circles and municipality, which play an important role in regional town development) to be reflected in the Commission's studies, and to facilitate an exchange of views. 　
  This is to officially announce that the first “Regional Panel Discussion” will be held in the Hokuriku region as outlined below.
