Public Appeal for proposal of “Project Promoting Research and Development with Strategic International Cooperation” FY 2012 Research and Development Projects

1. Outline

  The Project Promoting Research and Development with Strategic International Cooperation aims to cooperate to the acceleration of international standardization and implementation of R&D results, further enhancement of creation of innovation and Japan's international competitiveness, and improvement of the safety and reliability of people's lives and the social economy, etc. Research and development will be commissioned for proposals of R&D projects to be implemented in cooperation between Japanese and foreign research institutions. 　
  The term and allocation of fund for research and development is as follows. 　
  ・Term of research and development: up to 3 years 　
  ・Allocation of fund for Research and development: up to 100 million yen per annum per project (including associated costs)

  From March 30 (Fri) to 17:00 on May 7 (Mon), 2012
 

3. How to apply

  When applying, please see the proposal outlines and full written proposals for the research and development project. 　
  Using the Cross-ministerial R&D Management System (e-Rad), please input your application information and apply electronically. (Please complete all application processes through e-Rad by 17:00 on May 7 (Mon), 2012.) 　
  As well as electronic applications, it is also necessary to submit proposals to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC). Please submit one proposal and six copies of your proposal as well as all necessary documents (see outline of proposal creation for more details) by post to the Technology Clerk at the Technology Policy Division Global ICT Strategy Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC). (Applications must be received no later than 17:00 on May 7 (Mon), 2012.) 　
  In the case of collaborative research, please submit proposals to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) after settling on a representative research institution.
 

4. Other points to note

  This public appeal will be held before the FY 2012 budget is arranged in order to commence R&D as soon as the budget approved. Therefore, please understand that contents, etc. will be subject to change.
