Appeal for Opinion on Draft Partial Change of Plan for Use of Frequency for Core Broadcasting

Opening of new relay station for terrestrial digital television broadcasting in Shizuoka Prefecture
  The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has compiled a draft partial change of the Plan for Use of Frequency for Core Broadcasting pertaining to terrestrial digital television broadcasting (Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Public Notice No.661 of 1998).
  MIC will hold an appeal for opinions on this draft change from April 11 (Wed) to May 10 (Thu), 2012.

1.Major content

(1) Background
  Currently, there are areas where the reception of terrestrial digital television broadcasting is poor in Ito City, Shimoda City, Izu Town and Kawazu Town in the east side of Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka Prefecture. Temporal countermeasures via satellite have been implemented in those areas. The Plan for Use of Frequency for Core Broadcasting will be changed to open a relay station for terrestrial digital television broadcasting in a way that the good reception of terrestrial digital television broadcasting becomes possible permanently in those areas.
(2) Outline of change
  As for Shizuoka Prefecture, east Izu is added to the subject areas of terrestrial digital television broadcasting of NHK and Core Broadcasting Operators .
