
Official Announcement of “Interim Report from Working Group on the User Information Sent through Smartphone” under Study Group on consumer issues with ICT Services
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has held “Study Group on consumer issues with ICT services (Chairman: Masao Horibe, Honorary Professor of Hitotsubashi University) from April 2009. This Study Group compiled an interim report from “Working Group on the user information sent through smartphone” and it is officially announced herein.
1.Background
The MIC has decided to start a “Working Group on the user information sent thorough smartphone (hereinafter referred to as “this WG”)” under “Study Group on consumer issues with ICT Services from January 2012 in order to ascertain current conditions and issues including trends of foreign countries and consider measures necessary for the handling of user information, etc. so that user information from smartphone is applied in a safe and secure manner and highly convenient services are provided.
An interim report on the past results of considerations in this WG has been compiled and it is officially announced herein
2.Future plans
The MIC will continue to advance considerations in this WG and plan to compile a final report by June, 2012.
